Bricklaying

As a bricklayer, you need an eye for quality, construction tradition and the ability to think in new ways. Although a traditional craft, bricklaying is also modern, and you will also work with IT to draw and measure structures digitally. You can work all over the world as a skilled bricklayer, become self-employed or further your education to become, for example, an architectural technologist and construction manager.

Cabinetmaking

As a cabinetmaker, you produce furniture for the home.

The program teaches you traditional craftsmanship, how to produce large series and use new technology such as CNC and CAD/CAM, IT management of design and manufacturing. You can get a job in furniture and furnishing companies, become self-employed or continue your studies to become a design technologist.

Carpentry

As a carpenter, you are an expert in an ancient craft, modern construction and sustainable building. You have the ability combining theory and practice and at communicating with different types of people.

You can get a job in carpentry companies, large construction companies or become self-employed. You can also continue your studies to become for example an architectural technologist and construction manager.

Electrical Installations

Working with electrical installations, you are an expert in electrical systems, and you will be able to install new ones and repair those that are broken, whether it’s the power supply in a private home, a computer network or industrial robots. You are also good at customer contact and can advise on electrical installations and find suitable solutions.

You can find a job with a private electrical contractor or become self-employed.

Floor Laying

Floor laying is not just about technical skills. It is closely linked to interior design and the ability to advise within purpose, price, color, limitations, and maintenance of the desired floor.

As a floor layer, you’ll be a master of precision work and have an eye for maths, geometry and planning.

You can find work in both small and large construction companies and often work alongside other trades, such as carpenters. You can also become self-employed or continue your studies.

Joinery

As a joiner, you will work with wood and various panel materials. You are both a versatile craftsman and a skilled advisor who can think creatively, design and build so the customer will get the best solution. And you will often be involved in the entire process from the first customer contact to the finished product.

You can get a job in joinery and carpentry companies, become self-employed or continue your studies to become for example an architectural technologist and construction manager.

Landscape Gardening

As a landscape gardener, you will get to work outside, get your hands in the soil and help create beautiful gardens and green spaces with soil, plants, stones and tiles. From concept and design to landscaping, construction and planting, you will be involved in the process based on knowledge of soil and weather conditions and how plants and trees grow.

As a landscape gardener, you will need a great deal of creativity and the ability to visualize how designs will look like as a real-life garden, as well as understanding how the finished work will affect the existing environment and any wildlife.

You can get jobs in private landscaping companies or municipal landscaping departments. You can also become self-employed or study further to become an agricultural technologist.

Painting and Decorating

As a painter, you are a creative soul with an eye for color, trends and new techniques. You are the skilled craftsman who pays attention to detail with everything from washing, filling and sanding. You can also advise customers and collaborate with other professional groups.

The work is carried out everywhere – in private homes, businesses, public institutions and both indoors and outdoors. You can work in small painting companies, for large contractors or be self-employed.

Plastering and Drywall Systems

Plastering and drywall systems is carried out on both indoor and outdoor surfaces. Often it consists of installing drywall systems before the final plastering surface is applied. Working with plastering and drywall systems, you will be an expert in how to use different materials and work with curved surfaces, doors, windows, stucco work, etc. Precision and carefulness are required characteristics for a good result.

Working with plastering and drywall systems, you will often work in teams with other skilled craftsmen.

Plumbing and Heating

Plumbing and heating specialists are trained to make technical installations in a way that saves the customer the most energy and minimizes environmental impact. You can help utilize, control and regulate energy and can also create smart roof and facade solutions in slate, zinc and copper. The work is carried out everywhere – in private homes, businesses, public organizations, etc.

You can get jobs in, for example, installation companies and plumbing companies.

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

Today, we can hardly imagine life without well-functioning air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Working with refrigeration and air conditioning, you are an expert in design, installation, maintenance and repair of both air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Finding solutions to climate and environmental issues is one of your biggest challenges, and the profession is more relevant than ever in relation to the increased global warming and climate change. 

You will work both in private homes and at companies and organizations and within the construction and transport sectors, such as ships and trucks.  

Wall and Floor Tiling

Tiles can be made of different materials – ceramic, mosaic and natural stone. The environments they are used in are just as diverse: walls, floors and stairs in houses, factories, public companies and institutions, gardens, etc. As a tiler you can therefore work both indoors and outdoors. Every day you will be challenged within precision and creativity, and what you create will be enjoyed by people for many years to come.

As a tiler, you can for example further your education to become an architectural technologist and construction manager.
